Line Cook - Sun & Waves All Day Market Faherty, the family run clothing and lifestyle brand, is building out their next business concept—hospitality. Currently operating 70 retail stores across the US, we are opening a new café concept in Spring Lake, NJ. Sun & Waves All Day Market is everything you need for life down the Shore: from smoothies, coffee, sandwiches, salads and gourmet dishes to go, and a curated collection of artisan-crafted goods, local honey, and Faherty brand favorites. Sourcing only the highest-quality ingredients and product from trusted purveyors, Sun & Waves nourishes and nurtures the warm, welcoming energy of community—and the endless summer that lives in us all. We are seeking an experienced person to join our team. The individual in this role will work under the direction of the Executive Chef and will be responsible for effectively supporting in all culinary operations including: ensuring proper food safety measures, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization, and working closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely and high-quality service to customers. Nestled in the heart of Spring Lake, our cafe is a bustling hub where people gather to enjoy expertly brewed beverages, healthy beverages and warm hospitality. What You’ll Do Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes and menuspecifications. Ensure food quality and safety by following proper food safety and sanitation procedures. Adhere to portion control guidelines and presentation standards. Collaborate with kitchen team members to coordinate food preparation and orderexecution. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including washing dishes and equipment. Assist in food inventory management as needed. What You’ll Have: 2+ years of relative experience in the Hospitality industry. Excellent knife skills and experience working in both hot and cold lines. Maintain proper food certifications specific to State Laws. Energetic, accountable and team-oriented. Track record of taking ownership and going beyond responsibilities to ensure the success of the team. Ability to work independently and with all levels of leadership in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Physical Requirements Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Able to bend reach stretch for product as well as lift carry and move at least 40 lbs. Comfortable climbing ladders, moving around regularly and standing for extended periods of time. In order to protect the business and engage with all our customers, we need to ensure that we embrace an “all hands on deck” mentality during key business periods. Due to this, time off requests will be granted on a more limited basis. The Cafe will have additional specific peak season time. Why Us, You Ask!
